Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Lotus Living Tiny Homes Project.
On Friday, May 7, 2021, Imperial Valley celebrated the Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the Lotus Living Tiny Homes Project, also known as Lotus Living, Rise Above Resilient Community. This is a community comprised of 26 tiny homes, located in the City of El Centro, California, which will house students enrolled at Imperial Valley Community College that are experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of homelessness.
This project is a collaborative effort between the Imperial Valley College, the Imperial Valley College Foundation, the City of El Centro, Imperial County, Imperial Valley Continuum of Care Council, State of California, and builders. The Imperial Valley Continuum of Care Council (IVCCC) played an important role in the development of this project, as administrators of Homeless Emergency Aid Program (HEAP) grant, which funded the project in part.
